Contract Product Design Engineer (outside IR35)

Ongoing contract role

Location: London

Our client is a fast-paced global leader in consumer goods, designing and creating 5* products for their consumers, they are currently recruiting a Contract Product Design Engineer to support their team in London.

This is a hybrid role working 3 days a week in the office and 2 days from home per week, you must be able to commute to London for 3 days a week, and a portfolio of works and products designed / produced would be required for our client.

As Contract Product Design Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Develop new products from concept
• Detailed design from brief through to prototyping and then production.
• Rapid prototyping, functional lab testing and analysis of test data.
• Design verification to validate concepts.
• Detailed CAD design using Solidworks.
• Keep up to date by researching new processes and technologies
• Work with external manufacturing partners and other suppliers.
• Continually improve existing products to maintain our market leading position

To be a successful Contract Product Design Engineer you will have:

• Proven experience covering the product design lifecycle and qualified to degree level in either Product Design, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or similar.
• Qualified to degree level in either PhD, MSc, MA, MEng, BA, BEng or BSc Product Design, Mechanical Engineering, Product or Innovation Engineering.
• Experience in consumer electronics or household/kitchen appliances.
• 3D CAD (CREO preferred. Solidworks, NX or Inventor considered).
