Role Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a contract Senior / Principal Mechanical Engineer to join the engineering team at my client’s offices in Manchester. You will be working with a key client to complete the detailed design of a solvent recovery facility.

Role Purpose

The role is to provide expert mechanical engineering solutions for a solvent recovery facility project, ensuring detailed design and delivery are achieved in a multidisciplinary environment.

Job Role Responsibilities

• Perform the role of mechanical lead on project deliverables.
• Produce mechanical engineering design documents, including calculations, datasheets, specifications, and schedules.
• Contribute to safety reviews and other risk assessments.
• Ensure engineering designs meet appropriate quality and compliance controls, project briefs, and customer requirements through checking and quality control processes.
• Review vendor quotations and liaise with equipment and package vendors.
• Specify, design, and evaluate capacity for utility systems.
• Check piping design documents, including isometrics and layout drawings.
• Assist in plant layout development.

Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Desirable

• Chartered Engineer Status
• Experience in coordinating multi-disciplinary design teams
• Demonstrated ownership, innovation, and initiative in client projects
• Client-focused with a drive to deliver satisfaction
