Lead Mechanical Designer TDA

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Lead Mechanical Designer on the TDA, this is for legacy pond work situated on Sellafield site, West Cumbria.
About the role:
Develop AutoCAD designs.
Ensure design deliverables are produced to a high standard.
Check and produce CDM risk registers.
Check and approve scoping and calculations.
Produce technically accurate documentation.
Ensure work is delivered to scope.
Develop estimates and requirements at bid stage.
Ensure health and safety procedures and legislation is adhered to.
Assess concessions and technical queries.
Required Qualifications:
Chartered Engineer.
A minimum of 5 years working within a highly regulated industry (preferably nuclear decomm).
Degree qualified Mechanical Principal Engineer.
Ideally, have SC Clearance or the ability to gain it.
Monitored worker status advantageous but not essential.
Experience of the following is desirable:
Disassembly, dismantling, size reduction, and demolition of large equipment.
Sustainability.
Nuclear Safety and Hazard Management.
Design Tools experience:
Good proficiency in Microsoft packages (Excel, Word, Visio, Power point, Outlook, etc) and use of Navisworks Freedom and Mathcad.
Good working knowledge of other IT systems (AutoCAD/Inventor/PDMS) will be invaluable but not essential.
The rate is negotiable for the right candidate and the duration of this role is initially for 12 months with a view to extend.
