We’re recruiting for an experienced Automation Engineer to work on an initial 12 month contract in Dublin.

JOB SUMMARY
A ‘hands-on’ Automation Engineer to join the project team. Reporting to the Automation Lead, the Automation Engineer will work as part of the wider project Automation team to ensure timely delivery of the Vendor Package Equipment and associated Automation systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage/execute the installation, commissioning and qualification of Vendor Package Equipment systems.
  • Support Commissioning / loop check activities.
  • Witness vendor FAT & SAT execution.
  • Draft, review and approve Automation Change Packs to support all system remediation, optimisations at various stages of the project.
  • Develop, review, and approve VPE SOPs.
  • Prepare Permit to work, SPAs etc for work on active construction site.
  • Ongoing maintenance of all systems during project and startup phase.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Science or a related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of Rockwell Automation ControlLogix, Studio 5000 and FactoryTalk View essential.
  • Knowledge of Siemens S7, WinCC and TIA Portal an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Clean/Grey Utilities systems; Softened Water, WFI Generation, Clean Steam, Waste Inactivation.
  • Knowledge of Process systems; Centrifuge, Parts Washers, Autoclaves.
  • An understanding of applicable regulations such as Annex 11, GAMP and 21 CFR Part 11.
  • 7+ years’ experience in a GMP environment, preferably Pharma/Biopharma.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a wider team.

ADDITIONAL

  • Primarily a site based role with some flexibility to work remotely (subject to approval by manager)
  • A certain amount of overseas travel (Europe, US, Canada) is required for attendance at Vendor sites (e.g. for FATs).
