​Ofsted-registered children's home seeks a passionate and committed Support Worker to assist their young people who have autism and complex social, emotional. physical and behavioural difficulties.

Support Worker role:  You will work under the guidance of the Home Manager to work within a team of Residential and Senior Residential Support Workers to provide quality care to looked after children. The support worker will be looking after young females by providing a therapeutic approach to their care. You will work closely with their own in-house consultant clinical psychologist to provide a stable and nurturing environment for young females, who are at serious risk of child sexual exploitation, absconding and substance misuse and who can present with complex emotional and behavioural difficulties. The role encompasses all aspects of caring for young people within residential care, including supporting the development of their independence, social and life skills and working with the team to provide a safe and secure. You will need to be compassionate and resolute and able to manage challenging behaviours confidently.

Support Worker Criteria

  • Experience of supporting vulnerable people with complex needs
  • Willingness to work towards a Diploma/ NVQ Level 3 in children and young people or equivalent qualification
  • Knowledge of requirements of role and ability to lead others
