Interim Head of Fire Safety Opportunity in West Yorkshire
Day rate: £500 per day
The Council are on a transformative journey, enhancing their property services function and are looking to appoint an interim Fire Safety expert.
About the Role:
As the Interim Head of Fire Safety, you'll be the 'competent person' for all fire safety matters, ensuring compliance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. You'll be pivotal in transforming the approach to Fire Safety Management, providing competent advice, and maintaining high levels of fire precaution within Council premises.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a consistent fire safety policy and culture.
- Provide expert advice across the council.
- Ensure compliance with fire safety legislation and standards.
- Formulate and deliver comprehensive fire safety training.
- Liaise with emergency planning and health and safety teams.
About You:
- Member of the Institution of Fire Engineers or Institute of Fire Safety Managers.
- Qualified in fire prevention or fire safety (e.g., NEBOSH National Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management).
- Experienced in strategic fire safety within a complex, multi-site organisation.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain effective working relationships.
