SEN Teaching Assistant (Specialising in Challenging Behaviours)

Hours of Work: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM, Term Time

Pay: £85-£100 Daily Rate

My client, a reputable school nestled in the vibrant community of Hackney, East London, is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their dynamic team. As an SEN Teaching Assistant at our client’s school, you will play a pivotal role in providing tailored support to students with diverse needs.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with challenging behaviours, ensuring their safety and well-being in the classroom environment.
• Collaborate with the SENCO and teaching staff to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere, promoting social and emotional development through engaging activities and interventions.
• Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to the teaching team and parents/carers as required.
• Assist with the preparation of resources and materials, adapting learning materials to meet the specific needs of students.
• Maintain a supportive and respectful relationship with students, promoting independence and self-esteem.

Requirements:

· Experience working with students with special educational needs, particularly those with challenging behaviours.
· Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support (e.g., CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools).
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents/carers.
· Patience, resilience, and a proactive approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
· Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

This is a full-time, long-term position, offering a competitive daily rate of £85-£100.
