Key Responsibilities of our SEND Teacher:

  • Develop and implement specialised teaching strategies to accommodate students with SEN, ensuring access to the curriculum and promoting engagement.
  • Provide differentiated instruction and support to address diverse learning styles and abilities within the classroom.
  • Collaborate with SENCOs, support staff, and other professionals to assess student's needs, Educational Health Plans, and monitor progress.
  • Create a nurturing and supportive classroom environment where students feel valued, respected, and encouraged to succeed.
  • Regularly assess and evaluate student progress, adjusting teaching methods and resources as needed to facilitate learning outcomes.

To succeed in your application, you should meet the following criteria:

  • Preferred Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), though unqualified staff with relevant experience and passion are welcomed.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching within Primary (KS1/KS2) or Secondary (KS3/4).
  • Experience in lesson planning, delivery, assessment, and monitoring of individual performance.
  • Previous experience supporting children with SEND is essential, with SEN setting experience desirable.
  • Ability to adapt swiftly to potentially challenging situations.
