The Role:

We are seeking Mechanical Design & Senior Design Engineers to work in the subsea / marine / renewable sector to design bespoke mechanical handling & deployment equipment. The unique equipment uses vary from wind turbine monopile installation to subsea trenching, well intervention, deck spreads and walk to work systems.

Main Responsibilities:


• Ensuring engineering design packages in full compliance with customers requirements and all relevant codes and standards
• Carrying out final approval of design packages
• Support and mentoring of Engineering Team members
• Producing conceptual designs and detailed engineering analysis using available methods
• Producing 3D modelling drawings
• Liaising with appropriate departments to ensure clients requirements are fully met
• Preparing Design Specifications
• Preparing General Arrangement drawings and Assembly drawings, manufacturing drawings, Material Take Off Lists and Bill of Materials
• Advising and instructing operations staff with respect to testing and assembly of equipment
• Attending client meetings as required, identifying design engineering requirements and processes to meet client needs

Individual Quality and Safety Responsibilities:


• To comply with Client quality, safety and environmental management systems and procedures at all times.

Qualifications:


• Degree in Mechanical (preferred), Civil or Marine Engineering or appropriate design equivalent experience.
• Chartered membership of relevant professional engineering institute desirable.

Experience / Competence / Skills / Knowledge:


• Design experience, preferably within the renewable, oil and gas or subsea environment, would be an advantage.
• Design experience from first principles.
• Competence in 3D modelling and drafting.
• Experienced of, and competent in carrying out, checking and approving engineering design packages.
• Knowledge and use of piping / pressure vessel codes and standards.
• Understanding of and interpretation of FEA techniques.
