SEND Teaching Assistants required

Northway School, Barnet

Day-to-day, short-term and long-term roles

£87-£99 per day

The Supply Register is currently working in partnership with Northway School in Barnet to find experienced and committed SEND TAs to work in their school in a mix of day-to-day cover, short-term and long-term roles. Experience of working with SEN is mandatory for these roles as you will be working with children with a mix of needs, prodominently ASD. We are looking for those with a caring and nurturing background who are willing to be hands on and proactive. Experience with Team Teach or Makaton would be preferred but is not mandatory.

The school has two sites with the main site based in Mill Hill and the Infants site in Barnet.

Responsibilities

• Ensure your pupil/ pupils are engaged in lessons and completing their work as necessary
• Provide support to your pupil/ pupils both inside and outside of the classroom
• Assist the class teacher in managing pupils’ behaviour
• Assist the class teacher with setting up activities and displays when needed

Requirements

• Previous experience in an education or childcare role is essential
• Previous experience working with individuals with Special needs is essential
• Must have the Right to Work in the UK
• Must hold an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or be willing to process one
• Must be able to provide a minimum of 2 references and cover the last 2 years of employment
