Monday to Friday, 9am to 3.30pm
To start September 2024, temporary to permanent

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Personal Care Support Assistant to join a brilliant SEN Primary School that we are working with in Croydon. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting children aged 3-11 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Severe Learning Difficulties, and Complex Needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Personal Care: Assist with the personal care needs of students, including toileting, feeding, and maintaining personal hygiene.
  • Supporting Learning: Work closely with teaching staff to support students in their learning activities, adapting materials and approaches to meet individual needs.
  • Behavioural Support: Provide positive behaviour support to help manage and promote appropriate behaviour in the school environment.
  • Communication: Foster effective communication with students, teachers, and parents, ensuring a collaborative approach to each child's development.
  • Health and Safety: Maintain a safe and secure environment for all students, following school policies and procedures.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience in care work, particularly with children who have Special Educational Needs.
  • Passionate about supporting children with SEN, PMLD, and Severe Learning Difficulties.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.


This SEN Primary School has a happy and friendly environment. You'd be working 5 days a week in a helpful and nurturing school who go above and beyond to provide the best support to students, their families, and staff.

Easily accessible for anyone within 10 miles of the school based in South Croydon as there is parking on the same road as the school and bus and train stops nearby.
