YEAR 6 SEND Teaching Assistant – 1:1

Location: Chigwell, Redbridge

Contract Details: Full Time / Monday-Friday / 8.30am-3.30pm / Term Time Only

Pay: £450 – 475 per week

A large mainstream primary school in the Borough of Redbridge are looking to recruit an Year 6 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join their school team ASAP.

The role

• You will be working in a Year 6 class as a 1-1 Teaching Assistant, supporting a child with SEND.
• The successful candidate will be expected to address the needs of child, who requires support in overcoming barriers to learning and/or behaviour in order to achieve their full potential.
• Work closely with teachers to monitor the progress of student and provide feedback on their development, reporting back to staff/parents/guardians.
• Assist with personal care tasks, including toileting, and mobility support, if/as required.
• Support students during outings and extracurricular activities, ensuring their safety and engagement.

Experience and skills required

• Have experience or an interest in working with children with Learning Difficulties within either an educational setting or transferable sectors such as care & support work.
• Experience working with Autism would be advantageous but is not essential.
• Hold an NVQ Level 2 or above (desirable).
• Be willing to undertake the relevant online CPD courses/training prior to starting the role.
• Work effectively as part of a team, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
• Flexible approach to working with pupils, adapting to meet their diverse needs.
