Senior Electrical HV Distribution Engineer

£55-65 per hour Inside IR35

Working closely and onsite with clients in the Nuclear sector, you will provide engineering support to the Power Distribution Group for network level distribution projects comprising of HV and LV plant.

Using your specialist knowledge and direction in a complex field, supporting our client, you will provide technical and project leadership on projects of large significance or scale.

You will propose, define, manage, and deliver these major projects and lead project teams on HV network and primary LV enhancements. Serving as a point of authority, you will advise on technical solutions, designs and/or critical plant operational issues.

You will act as the work package manager for assignments, with the responsibility for the following:

  • Design
  • Specification
  • Procurement
  •  Installation
  • Commissioning of the respective electrical system

This role will require some onsite working initially, with a hybrid approach thereafter.

Requirements :

  • A relevant electrical engineering degree or equivalent.
  • Chartered Engineer status with a suitable professional institution.
  • Proven capability in engineering analysis and a good working knowledge of engineering materials and their properties.
  • Extensive experience with high-power electrical systems with a size and rating as typically used in power stations and large industry.
  • Good working knowledge of electrical engineering with specialist knowledge in HV substations and distribution power systems.
  • Experience with working to design standards and applying industry best practice.
  •  Leading teams and supervising other staff. Good communication and technical writing skills.
