HR Advisor (FTC). Based in Manchester City Centre.

Hybrid working 3 days in and 2 from home. Salary up to £40,000 PA + benefits package.

PURPOSE

The HR team are about to commence a European wide HR system implementation project involving the introduction and replacement of a Recruitment ATS, Core HR and Payroll system. As a result, the permanent HR team will be heavily involved in the scoping and delivery of the new system infrastructure which means until that project has been completed, the HR team and wider business will require additional temporary support in the day-to-day delivery of HR activities.

Alongside the HR systems project, the HR team will also be heavily involved in the mobilisation of additional growth of the current business portfolio. As a HR Advisor, you will be providing vital day to day advice and guidance to line managers and employees regarding the whole employee lifecycle - recruitment, onboarding, training, employee relations matters, policy communication and offboarding. Notwithstanding these core activities, you will also be provided opportunities to work on new projects and initiatives related to either the HR system, mobilisation or the advancement of current HR ways of working.

This is a fast-paced organisation embarking on an exciting journey of growth and development. You will be expected to react quickly to support situations that are presented to you, but delivery them thoroughly and in the best interests of the business considering both internal policy/procedure and employment legislation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide first line support to line managers relating to policy content and application.

• Advise and assist as notes taker where required in employment relations matters to include Probation reviews, performance development reviews (PDRs), investigations, disciplinaries, grievances, flexible working requests etc.

• Coach managers on ER processes and timelines to minimise risk to the business.

• Seek innovative ways of improving current ways of working, taking into consideration the change management to a new HR system.

• Review and update policies and procedures to reflect new ways of working post system implementation.

• Create, review and deliver training to employees/line managers on how to use the new HR system – recruitment requests, salary authorisation forms, how to access self-service, how to record absence, how to request annual leave, how to access my payslip etc.

• Support the HRBPs in the embedding and delivery of HR processes and initiatives.

• Support the team to deliver initiatives to drive a culture of continuous improvement in areas such as colleague engagement, absence management, attrition.

• Work in collaboration with colleagues to understand business challenges, look for learnings that can be shared across the team and escalate as appropriate where HR could implement new or adapt existing policies, practices, or procedures for the enhancement of our delivery for the benefit of our colleagues, customers, and clients.

• Support the HR team through effective proactive communication to ensure that we remain joined up and consistent in our HR support to the organisation.

• Reasonable other duties that may arise to support the agility and growth of our organisation and people agenda.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

• At least three years’ experience in Generalist HR.

• Current and solid knowledge of HR best practice and employment law.

• Strong employee relations knowledge with demonstrable experience of managing complex cases.

• Ideally multi-site experience.

• Proven ability to plan and manage your workload, deal with conflicting demands, and meet tight deadlines.

• Resilient and able to thrive under pressure.

• Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office and HR systems.

• Good interpersonal, teamworking and communication skills.
