JOB TITLE: Head of Business and Economics

START DATE: September 2024

LOCATION: Islington, Inner London

SALARY: MPS/UPS; inner London allowance; TLR 2.2, with the possibility of increased remuneration and responsibility for an exceptional candidate

CONTRACT TYPE: Full Time Permanent

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Head of Department who will join a dynamic and committed department from September 2024.

The ideal candidate will:

• To lead the subject curriculum at KS3 to KS5 to ensure excellent standards of student achievement within Business & Economics.
• To be accountable for student progress within the curriculum area.
• To lead on one whole school teaching and learning priority with guidance and support from the SLT.
• To coach, develop and enhance the teaching practice of others across the stated subject area.
• To ensure the provision of an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students within these subjects studying in accordance with the aims of the school.
• To be accountable for leading, managing and developing the above stated subjects.
• The appointed colleague will have the exciting opportunity to lead the introduction of economics GCSE and A-level in the school.

The Head of Economics and Business would be expected, to lead the development of our economics and business curriculum to sustain and grow numbers, develop the practice of other teachers and, of course, sustain excellent outcomes for students.
