Hours 35 Hours a week (Mon-Fri) Hybrid 1 day in the office

Duration 3 Month Contract (possible extension)

You will play an important part in management of Public Health commissioned services, particularly sexual health services, including ensuring the high quality of service provision and cost-effectiveness through detailed monitoring and evaluation of spend and performance data. Ensuring timely and accurate payments to suppliers using payment systems and sensitive healthcare data systems to ensure accuracy and for monitoring is a key part of this role. Experience in business world payment systems and financial and numerical analyses and reporting and proficiency in excel is essential. Experience in sexual health commissioning, or similar, is preferable.

Immediate priorities for this role are to ensure timely and accurate payments to NHS and other public health services. Experience in business world, or similar payment processes is preferred (training provided). Excellent Excel, numerical, financial and analytical skills. The role will play a key role in baseline setting, financial monitoring, performance management and support budget setting and wider contracting and commissioning, Good knowledge of local authority and healthcare related commissioning, Ideally experience in sexual health commissioning, or strong transferable skills. Ability to meet deadlines, work within a busy environment to meet deadlines and team and wider collaborative working inside the Council, with NHS and other partners.

The purpose of this role is to provide commissioning, financial and project management support to all aspects of public health commissioning programmes, particularly sexual health.

You will work closely with the lead commissioner for sexual health to develop, maintain and manage effective business and administrative functions to ensure robust contract and financial management, as well as the wider public health team and leads.

A good understanding of the Public Health function within local government, with substantial experience in a related role. High level project management and public health-related commissioning support skills are required, especially financial, payments, contract management, procurement and organisational skills.

You must be someone who can manage conflicting priorities and maintain accountability for your work, whilst also working as an effective team member, act with initiative, be flexible and be skilled in communication, including effective report writing and verbal communication with a wide range of internal and external partners, including other Councils and NHS commissioning and supporting negotiations and contract management with provider organisations.

You will provide financial budget support to Public Health services leads and take a key role in maintaining the day to day maintenance of financial and performance management and administrative systems, supporting effective commissioning of services and on-going contract management
