Ground Maintenance Operative

We are currently seeking a Ground Maintenance Operative to join a grounds maintenance contractor who provide a range of soft landscaping services across the South East.
 
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out all aspects of grounds maintenance operations as part of a team whilst ensuring that efficiency and quality standards are achieved.
 
Responsibilities:
 
Ensure the policy and procedures are adhered to at all times and that all legal requirements and good practices are observed.

·Work as part of a flexible team in performing grounds maintenance services to agreed work schedules and contract standards.
·Carry out grass cutting operations utilising strimmers, hand and ride on mowers.
·Keep all sites clean and tidy.
·To ensure that plant machinery, vehicles and equipment are operated correctly. Maintain and take responsibility for your equipment, carry out daily and weekly checks, maintenance and cleaning of equipment when appropriate.  
·Undertake hedge cutting operations being competent in the use of hedge trimmers and access equipment.  
·Undertake shrub border maintenance, pruning and leaf clearance or other horticultural maintenance as directed. Carry out adhoc works including landscaping, or other environmental improvement works, such as siding works, sign cleaning, ground preparation, turfing, seeding, shrub and tree planting.  
·Ensure that service delivery complies with current regulations, accepted professional standards, Company policies and procedures and appropriate legislation.
·Support the contract managers, supervisors and and other colleagues in achieving daily and weekly targets. Complete all necessary paperwork such as timesheets, job tickets etc. and submit on a timely basis
·To carry out any other duties as requested from time to time.

What's required:

·Experience of working multi sites  
·Experience of grounds maintenance or gardening work /heavy manual labour
·Experience of ride on mower work
·Experience in use of strimmers
·Health and Safety awareness through training and experience  
·Full current driving license
·Ability to communicate with managers, supervisors etc.
·Able to follow instructions
·Self-motivated and able to work on your own initiative
·Good Team Player
