INTERIM TECHNICAL MANAGER - LEADING GLOBAL FMCG BUSINESS

We are urgently seeking an Interim Technical Manager to join a leading food manufacturing site based near Wakefield.

This pivotal role is a senior leadership position and part of the Senior Leadership team on site. As Technical Manager, you'll lead the delivering of Quality Management and Food Safety systems managing the technical relationship with customers, managing the site quality team, ensuring Best in Class technical capability, and driving collaboration across departments to foster a strong Quality Culture.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee on-site Quality and Food Safety Management System.
  • Develop, execute, and enhance quality systems ensuring consistent quality, food safety, and certifications.
  • Manage HACCP system, TACCP, and VACCP programs.
  • Coordinate internal management systems for quality and functional teams.
  • Lead initiatives to reduce complaints, non-conformances, and incidents.
  • Act as site leader for food safety incident management and crisis programs.
  • Manage supplier partnerships and regulatory compliance.
  • Engage with industry leaders to develop quality and food safety programs.
  • Lead technical relationships with customers and support quality control programs.
  • Drive quality improvement projects and team development initiatives.
  • Collaborate with site leadership to achieve objectives and foster a unified team.


KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ideally, Degree/diploma in science-based field, with Quality/Laboratory Management experience.
  • HACCP Lead Auditor, exposure to TACCP/VACCP.
  • Six Sigma Certification or similar WCM qualification preferred.
  • Experienced in Quality/Food Safety auditing and management.
  • Knowledgeable in microbiological monitoring and methods.
  • Familiarity with Food Safety legislation (e.g., FDA, EFSA, ISO).
  • Proficient in risk-based process management.
  • Skilled in Opex/Capex budget planning.
  • Awareness of ISO 17025 standards.
