Sheldon Phillips invites applications for a dedicated Qualified Social Worker to join a Looked After Children's Team within a respected city-based local authority in the East Midlands.

This locum position is not just a job; it's a chance to make a tangible difference in the lives of children and young people. The role commands an attractive rate of £35 per hour, reflecting the value and impact of your work. Designed to accommodate work-life balance, the post is available for four days per week, with the potential to reduce to three days, ensuring you have time to recharge and focus on personal interests.

As the post holder, you will manage a diverse caseload of looked after children, ranging from newborns to 18-year-olds. These children reside in various settings, including foster care, kinship care, residential homes, semi-supported accommodation, or with parents. Your expertise will guide and support these young individuals, shaping their futures positively.

The role offers a blend of office-based and remote working arrangements, providing the flexibility to create a comfortable and efficient work environment. An office base is available for when a structured setting is preferred.

Candidates should possess experience in working with Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC) and Children with Disabilities (CWD), as these areas are encompassed within the team's responsibilities.

Required Skills & Experience:

- A recognised qualification in Social Work
- Registration with the Social Work England
- Proven experience in child protection and looked after children services
- Knowledge of UASC and CWD
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
