Morson Talent are currently looking for a Head of Technical Aviation Support for an 18 Month initial contract paying £455.78 PAYE or £513 Ltd.

Objective:

As the Head of Technical Aviation Support Team (TAST), the role is accountable for providing leadership, direction, and guidance to a team of embedded engineers within the (RSAF) Directorate of Aeronautical Engineering (DoAE). This position involves fostering collaboration with RSAF leadership to develop strategies for enhancing indigenous engineering capabilities and ensuring effective support across RSAF bases and headquarters.


Core Focus Areas/Key Responsibilities:

Manage embedded engineers to support the RSAF Directorate of Aeronautical Engineering.
Mentor and develop embedded engineers within the RSAF DoAE.
Conduct Performance Development Reviews (PDR) for the embedded team.
Report team performance to Engineering Function.
Manage Travel & Subsistence budget for the team, maximizing cost reductions.
Share engineering best practices with RSAF DoAE.
Assist RSAF DoAE in developing strategies and processes for the RSAF EA directorate.
Provide support to RSAF Director of Aeronautical Engineering in generating meeting materials and briefings.
Coordinate with relevant RSAF Directorates to develop engineering management systems.
Maintain working relationships with stakeholders.
Review and recommend authorizations for engineering modifications and integration testing.
Assist RSAF in generating plans and procefdures for system improvements.
Provide guidance on Hazard Analysis, Safety Cases, qualification & certification activities.
Assist in aircraft, AGE (Aerospace Ground Equipment), and equipment trials and integration.
Review RSAF EA trials/integration plans and provide recommendations.
Share best practices with RSAF and gather information for performance improvement.
Provide training to RSAF personnel, both informally and formally.
Establish mechanisms to monitor emerging legislation and disseminate relevant information to RSAF.

Outline Qualification, Experience & Business Expertise:

Degree in Aeronautical/Aerospace/Electrical/Mechanical/Electromechanical Engineering or related field.
Master’s Degree or higher and Chartered Engineer status desirable.
Minimum 15 years of experience in aircraft engineering within military Engineering/Support Authority.
Extensive knowledge and experience in aircraft and systems trial and integration activities.
Proficient in implementing engineering change management processes.
Familiarity with aviation quality systems, airworthiness, aircraft engineering, etc.
Detailed understanding of aircraft drawings, systems, certification requirements, etc.
Strong technical and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to promote continuous development and improvement.
Ability to facilitate, mediate, and influence in diverse military and civilian cultures.


Core Functional Competencies:

Knowledge of RSAF Organization and Regulations.
Awareness of RSAF programs, suppliers, government agencies, etc.
Leadership qualities with the ability to communicate effectively.
Experience in dealing with senior management within an Engineering Authority.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Working knowledge of Export Control Regulations.
