Are you an experience stores person with experience or a solid interest and knowledge of cars and the automotive industry. Are you interested in a Stores / Inventory role based within an automotive test and development facility to grow your career? ASL Technical are now working with a leading Automotive Engineering centre as they look to expand their Warehouse and Stores team to support vehicle builds and ongoing testing.

Main Purpose of Automotive Stores role JOB ROLE

  • Inspect vehicle parts to ensure they adhere to the technical drawings.
  • Be able to accurately describe/report parts that have failed inspection to departments outside of the UK.
  • Receipt of Goods In & Out, to include unloading of test parts in a timely manner.
  • Liaise with Customer groups to advise of test parts arrival.
  • Pick test parts for use by test groups.

Do you have the required experience for the Stores role?

  • Knowledge of and be able to recognise car parts and assemblies.
  • A good knowledge and experience of using PC packages in day-to-day work.
  • Good organisational skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Understanding of how to use handheld measuring tool (verniers, vernier callipers, feeler gauges etc.) accurately.
  • Be prepared to visit other locations to carry out inspections at suppliers’ locations.

Qualifications, skills, training requirements

  • Fork Lift Truck licence – not essential but willingness to learn is.
  • Experience in the motor trade, technician, Stores/Goods Inwards & Outwards environment
  • Current Full UK Driving Licence

This is a 12 month contract opportunity where the successful candidate can expect to receive the following in addition to the advertised rate:
