Design Manager - Industrial
Type: Contract
Rate: £400 - £450 per day (Outside IR35)
Location: Shotton Deeside
Start Date: ASAP

We are seeking an experienced Design manager with an impressive portfolio of new build Industrial projects to take lead on all onsite design management requirements for 3 key Industrial projects spanning 24 months.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience in new build and refurbishment of Industrial projects encompassing proficiency and exposure to steel, reinforced concrete and associated civils works. Previous onsite design management experience is imperative.
Responsibilities:
• Thoroughly assess design drawings and specifications to ensure compliance, feasibility, and effectiveness at every stage of development.
• Provide technical guidance to ensure alignment with industry standards, building codes, regulations, and sustainability goals.
• Coordinate with subcontractors to address construction-related design inquiries alongside the Principal Designer.
• Attend client and subcontractor meetings as needed.
• Cultivate strong relationships with construction teams to enhance project efficiency and delivery.
• Demonstrate strong leadership skills to facilitate collaboration between design and construction teams, fostering a cohesive approach to project objectives.
• Understand project requirements, including client expectations, operational processes, and project specifications.
• Assist in identifying and addressing design risks as part of the project team.
• Lead value engineering efforts by identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
• Collaborate with design, construction, and development teams to implement cost-effective solutions throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements:
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in design management
• Degree qualified or equivalent in construction or a related subject
• Previous experience working on an Industrial project for a main contractor
• CSCS, First Aid
