Monday - Friday 7.30am - 4.30pm with the occasional weekend.

The company provides a variety of high-quality mechanical engineering services from process engineering and asset maintenance to feasibility, concept, design, manufacturing and installation. They understand the challenges faced by their clients and provide services that maximise performance and minimise disruption. In addition, their specialist facilities team offer a hybrid service covering maintenance regimes and asset registers, delivering proactive programmes that ensure leaner facilities management. With mechanical installation contracts ranging in value from a few thousand to many millions of pounds for clients including Nestle, Coors, BASF and Britvic, they have experience of completing complex mechanical projects spanning a range of industries including food and beverage, brewing and distilling, pharmaceutical and chemical and industrial. With this in mind this is an excellent opportunity for a mechanical fitter to join the company's Birmingham office, supporting a major project in Bournville, Birmingham.

Duties

As an experienced mechanical fitter you will be working within a food production facility in Birmingham. Primary responsibilities will be to assist with the installation of new manufacturing plant with the associated safety guards and metalwork. Specifically installing conveyors, product treatment equipment, packing lines, machine guards, viewing platforms, jigs, process pipework, along with the associated components in line with the schedule of works. In addition, you'll be carrying out preventive maintenance to machines and conveyors typically removing, cleaning and replacing rollers, bearings, shafts, motors and pumps. There will be other mechanical fitting duties as required and instructed by the site engineering team for example installing machine supports, secondary steel work, gantries and walkways.

About you

Based ideally in Birmingham you will need to live within a commutable distance of B30 2PF. Travel expenses and accommodation costs are not covered with this role.

Demonstrable experience of mechanical fitting with hands-on knowledge of production machinery and equipment along with good fault-finding skills are essential for this role.

In return for your experience, you will receive a salary between £18.26 and £19.78PAYE or £24.00 and £26.00CIS per hour.
