Astute's EPC Power team is partnering with a leading Consultant within the UK Power Industry to recruit a Lead Quality Engineer on a 12 month contract basis for a Waste to Energy facility in North London.

The Lead Quality Engineer comes with a day rate from £500.00 to £525.00 per day.





Key skills and responsibilities:
  • Development of a Project Quality Charter / Policy (Collaboration and Management Commitment).
  • Promote and drive a positive quality culture throughout each phase of the project.
  • Present yourself to the client and EPC Contractor in a professional, fair, and supportive manner.
  • Support the Project Manager in quality related challenges and associated solutions.
  • Support the Project Manager in the development of project related plans, specifications, procedures, and methodologies to help deliver the project on time, within budget and with zero defects.
  • Verify the delivery of Project / Client Quality Requirements as per contract and specifications.
  • Day to day management of the EPC Contractor and their associated deliverables in relation to QA/QC and Certification.
  • Plan, implement and record regular EPC Contractor quality meetings. Coordination and oversight of existing quality meetings.
  • Verify the delivery of UKCA / CE Marking and associated regulatory requirements (inc. whole plant).
  • Plan and implement a suite of risk-based compliance-based quality audits.
  • Management of Supplier Quality Surveillances, NOI's and associated inspections (onsite / offsite).
  • Oversee the development and delivery of the final manufacturing and installation quality manual index and associated records, including OEM Certification, O&M Manuals, As Built Records, HSE Files, UKCA Technical Files and associated UKCA Declarations of Conformity.
  • Manage product and service-related non-conformities alongside contractors and suppliers to ensure effective remedial action, corrective action and root cause analysis are implemented
    Assist in the identification and implementation of project learnings and quality improvements.
  • Take a lead role when involved in quality investigations and RCA upon discovery of a major quality failure and ensure that the failure is contained and prevented in a timely manner.
  • Where requested, participate in the Design Review Process of Quality Plans, Quality Records etc.
    Input to project related weekly, monthly, or specific detail reports as and when requested.
  • HNC/HND/BENG Engineering and / or HNC/HND Quality Management Diploma
  • Certified QMS Lead Auditor (ISO 9001:2015).
  • CSWIP 3.2.2 Certified Senior Welding Inspector.
  • Member of the Chartered Quality Institute (Minimum PCQI).
  • Fluent in English (Reading, written and spoken).
  • Ideally past employment working with an EPC or EPCM
