The role of a Teaching Assistant:

Classroom Support

• Assist the teacher in the preparation of materials and resources
• Supporting individual students or small groups with classwork
• Creating and fostering an inclusive, positive learning environment
• Ensure the class is tidy, and well organised throughout different points of the day.

Behavioural Support

• Implementing behaviour management strategies to maintain a positive and productive classroom atmosphere
• Supporting students in their development of social skills and behaviour

Individual Student Support

• Providing additional 1:1 assistance to pupils who may require extra support
• Offering encouragement and guidance to students with Additional Needs.
• Work with students with additional needs and contribute to the development and implementation of individualised education plans.

Communication

• The ability to communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and pupils regarding day-to-day classroom activities and the progress of pupils.

Candidate Requirements:

• Hold an enhanced DBS check (or be willing to apply for one)
• Registered with the EWC (We can assist with this as well as the DBS)
• Fluent in both Welsh and English
• Able to commute within Cardiff
