To manage all aspects of packaging & product development projects across Multi-Site Operation. This is an extensive opportunity to tender both flexibles and corrugated packaging across a range of alternative suppliers. You will work in Collaboration with – R&D, National Account Managers, Brand Managers, Project Managers,Operations, Procurement, Finance & Material Control. Also to provide additional support to the NPD team as required

Key Accountabilities

-To evaluate new and amended packaging materials ensuring they are designed, manufactured and delivered to site fit for purpose to agreed quality, cost and timescales.
- Working alongside the NPD confec teams co-ordinate the development of specific recipe transfersinto the production sites
-Be fully conversant in the use and management of external/customer technical portals
-To agree critical paths with stakeholders for all elements of projects, and to manage and deliverprojects against these critical paths.
-To provide the business and its’ customers with technical packaging & product support.
-To arrange and manage packaging & product trials to ensure that new packaging is fit for purpose and product trials are transferred to site effectively
-To provide ROB project managers and customers with appropriate packaging information necessary to generate artwork and manage the artwork and approval process.
-To ensure accurate and timely completion of our specification system and other internal business systems and processes to meet our customer and BRC audits.
To provide specifications for the packaging & product elements of new projects and to facilitate accurate costing and the making of good commercial decisions.
-To identify and implement value optimisation opportunities.

Challenge and address unsafe behaviour, be involved in testing emergency procedures, lead accident & incident investigations to establish root causes and preventative measures. Deliver safety briefings to your team so you are seen as the safety leader of your team. Make available team embers to support the company safety program.

Experience and Qualifications

-At least 2 years packaging & product development experience preferably within an FMCG / Food Manufacturing 
-Excellent attention to detail.
-Experience of working with the major UK grocers.
-The ability to initiate and drive developments to completion against challenging timescales.
-The ability to plan, organise and prioritise activity, and manage multiple projects.
-Knowledge of packaging and printing technology, methods and materials within the food industry.
-Knowledge of legislation and environmental issues relating to packaging.
-Strong communication and influencing skills at all levels.
-Good commercial awareness.
-Good computer literacy skills.
-Full driving licence – A multi-site business and the role will involve travelling between factories, suppliers and customers.
