Jackson Hogg is delighted to be supporting a global client with the appointment of an experienced Interim HSE Director to oversee and enhance their global HSE strategies.  As a leading international corporation, we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental sustainability across all their operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership:
    • Develop and execute comprehensive HSE strategies aligned with organizational goals and industry best practices.
    • Provide strategic guidance to senior management on HSE matters, ensuring a proactive approach to risk management and compliance.
    • Regulatory Compliance:
    • Stay abreast of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards pertaining to health, safety, and environmental practices.
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable HSE laws and regulations across the organization's global footprint.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
    • Conduct thorough risk assessments across all business units and operations to identify potential hazards and vulnerabilities.
    • Implement effective risk mitigation measures and contingency plans to minimize HSE-related incidents and emergencies.
    • Training and Education:
    • Develop and implement HSE training programs for employees at all levels, fostering a culture of safety and environmental stewardship.
    • Provide leadership and support for HSE awareness campaigns and initiatives aimed at promoting employee engagement and accountability.
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
    • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness of HSE programs and initiatives.
    • Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management and board members, highlighting HSE performance, trends, and areas for improvement.
  • Supplier and Contractor Management:
    • Evaluate the HSE performance of suppliers, contractors, and third-party vendors, ensuring adherence to contractual requirements and safety standards.
    • Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to select and engage with HSE-conscious partners and vendors.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Lead continuous improvement efforts in HSE management systems and processes, leveraging data-driven insights and feedback mechanisms.
    • Drive innovation in HSE practices and technologies to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and sustainability.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience in a senior HSE leadership role, preferably within a multinational corporation or similar complex organizational structure.
  • In-depth knowledge of global HSE regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess risks, develop strategies, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated track record of driving cultural change and promoting a safety-conscious work environment.
  • Availability for travel as needed.
