Job Title: Senior Finance Analyst

Pay Rate: £450per day - £475 per day PAYE

Duration: August 2025 (Mat leave cover - could be extended)

Location: Crewe, CW1 3PL

WFH/Hybrid/WFO: Hybrid 60% onsite

Shift Patterns: 35 hours per week - possibly more for month end Monday to Friday

Purpose of the role:

Our client, a leading organisation in the Automotive industry, is seeking a Senior Finance Analyst to join their team in Crewe. As a Senior Finance Analyst, you will play a crucial role in the preparation of accurate and timely financial information and reporting, both internally and externally. You will be responsible for providing financial data analysis and variances against the budget forecast, as well as co-ordinating and managing local planning processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate and timely statutory financial information and reporting, ensuring adherence to International Financial Reporting Standards.
  • Deliver budgets, plans, and forecasts data within internal timelines.
  • Prepare and present audit reconciliations to external auditors and internal auditors.
  • Setup new business activities in the SAP system to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Provide financial data analysis and explanations for variances against the latest plan.
  • Conduct regular budget holder reviews to ensure understanding of current and planned expenditure.
  • Identify risks and opportunities, and propose counter-measures to resolve them.
  • Coordinate and manage local planning, reforecasting, and budgeting processes.
  • Provide expertise to support business decisions, ensuring data quality and highlighting any areas of conflict.
  • Ensure effective authorisation of expenditure within the approved budget.
  • Support budgetary management and control, identifying and resolving risks and opportunities.
  • Provide educational support to budget holders to improve efficiency and adherence to process.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting regulations for expenditures.
  • Record financial transactions accurately in SAP, including monthly accruals and prepayments.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in finance or related field.
  • Recognised accounting qualification (ACA, CIMA) or equivalent (MBA).
  • Knowledge of financial accounting processes and systems.
  • Experience working in a finance environment, preferably in manufacturing or the automotive industry.
  • Ability to analyse data and produce business models to support decision-making.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interface with various stakeholders.
  • Track record of effective cross-functional collaboration.
  • Proficiency in advanced Excel and other MS Office applications.
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning systems, such as SAP.
  • Familiarity with business planning tools, such as Cognos.
