About Us: Randstad are currently recruiting for a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher to join a specialised Autism school in Leeds. The school is dedicated to providing a supportive and enriching learning environment for students on the autism spectrum. Located in the heart of Leeds, the passionate team is committed to empowering students to thrive academically and personally.

Job Overview: As a SEN Teacher in an LD and autism-focused school, you will play a pivotal role in providing high-quality education tailored to meet the diverse needs of students. Working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, you will create an inclusive and stimulating learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver differentiated lessons to meet the varying needs of students on the autism spectrum.
  • Develop and implement Education Care Plans (ECPs) for each student.
  • Foster a positive and supportive classroom environment that promotes sensory awareness and accommodates individual learning styles.
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants and support staff to ensure a holistic approach to students' education and well-being.
  • Utilise effective communication strategies to engage with students and facilitate their social and emotional development.
  • Work closely with parents and external professionals to provide ongoing support and feedback.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a background in Special Education.
  • Experience working with students on the autism spectrum.
  • Knowledge of autism-specific teaching strategies and interventions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles.
