Wards Refurbishment Director 

Location:                          Based in Sydenham 

Department:                    Estates  

Hours:                               Monday to Friday (occasional out of hours working and /weekend)

Salary:                               Circa £78,000 plus a Recruitment & Retention Allowance / Incentive payment   

Contract:                          Fixed Term Contract for 15 months

The Wards Refurbishment Director at St Christopher’s is an exciting role, you will lead St Christopher’s in-patient ward refurbishment, a £2.45m programme. 

The Wards Refurbishment Director will lead on the delivery of the refurbishment from start to finish. This includes responsibility for:

• The overall project management of the programme ensuring the refurbishment is completed in a timely and efficient manner, and to budget
• The tendering, selection and management of key suppliers
• Liaising with project teams and clinical colleagues to minimise disruption to ongoing care
• Reporting progress to key stakeholders such as the Board of Trustees and the Executive Team.

What you will need to succeed

To be successful in this role you will: 

• Have a BSc/BA in engineering, building science or relevant field, or equivalent experience
• Proven experience as construction project lead of equivalent sized projects, and delivering them to time and to budget
• Experience of carrying out detailed specifications of work, issuing tenders, and selecting suppliers
