Job description

We are pleased to be recruiting a skilled fabricator welder for our client based in Sheffield.

This is a temporary to permanent role, possibly straight to permanent if preferred.

The starting rate is between £16 and £17 depending on experience plus overtime.

Hours of work are Monday to Friday 9am to 5.30pm.

The role will involve fabricating and welding steel items in the workshop and also some running repairs on equipment.

The company is a busy manufacturing facility and the role will involve daily variety.

Experience of using press and folding equipment for fabrication would be an advantage, also some experience in reading technical drawings and also being able to work from rough diagrams.

- Perform welding tasks using various techniques such as stick welding and sheet metal welding
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to fabricate and assemble metal parts
- Use hand tools and power tools to cut, shape, and weld metal components
- Conduct quality inspections to ensure finished products meet specifications
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and according to specifications
- Maintain a clean and organized work area

Skills:
- Proficient in welding techniques, including stick welding and sheet metal welding
- Basic mathematical skills for measurements and calculations
- Mechanical knowledge to understand equipment and machinery
- Familiarity with hand tools for cutting, shaping, and assembling metal components
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Strong attention to detail for precise fabrication and assembly work
- Experience using power tools for cutting, grinding, and polishing metal surfaces
