Abatec is looking to appoint an experienced Site Engineer on a freelance contract to join a leading Tier 1 contractor currently working at Hinkley Point C, a multi-billion-pound major project in the southwest.

The successful candidate will have several years of experience in the civil engineering industry, capable of self-delivery, setting out, and substantial experience in reinforced concrete (RC) works.

As Site Engineer you will:

• Have a minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in setting out on heavy civil engineering schemes.
• Check drawings and quantities, ensuring the accuracy of calculations.
• Assist in the preparation of ‘as-built drawings’
• Comply with the site-specific health and safety protocols to ensure any health and safety concerns are identified and reported as necessary.

Our client requires a Site Engineer with:

• Experience with Leica Survey equipment (GPS, Total Station, Optical, and digital levels).
• Valid CSCS
• A good understating of construction health & safety protocols.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience in Groundworks, Earthworks, and RC works.
• Degree qualification in civil engineering or equivalent is desirable.
• Due to the nature of the scheme the successful engineer will be required to undergo SC clearance.

Salary/Benefits:

• £350 - £400 PAYE/umbrella
