Job Vacancy: Traffic Management Operative Apprentices

Coyle Personnel have an exciting opportunity for several candidates who want a new career in Traffic Management on our special industry tailored bootcamp.

We are looking for reliable enthusiastic candidates to join our team of Traffic Management staff. We are offering a free training program which will equip you to do the job. You will also be working for various companies and learning on the job when not training.

A Traffic Management Operative is responsible for setting up temporary traffic management on road construction sites to protect the work force when carrying out vital road construction or road repairs. This is a safety critical role which requires candidates to work safely and be alert while on duty. This is a very important role. Without temporary traffic management, many infrastructure projects would simply not get done.  

Some of the duties include, but are not restricted to:

  • Setting up temporary traffic management signs, cones and traffic lights as required by our client.
  • Carrying out site checks and maintaining the traffic management periodically.
  • Monitoring traffic flow and manually controlling the traffic lights to assist with traffic flow stationed within the road construction site.
  • Marshalling road construction closure points and advising the public of diversion routes and allowing access to residents only.
  • Liaising with the contractor on site and the public, working as an ambassador for the client company, carrying out their instructions in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Carrying out stop and go duties as and when required by the client company.
  • Adhering to site method statements, and the client’s health and safety policy.
  • Working out of client’s depots

Hours:

Hours will vary depending on our client’s needs. It can be days nights and weekends. The shifts are normally a minimum of 10 hours per shift, but most are 12 hours, normally Monday to Sunday 0700-1900.

Most of our vacancies are temporary contract roles. Where possible we work with our candidates to tailor the number of shifts per week to suite their requirements.

Full training provided to the right candidates, including NRSWA Unit 1 Signing, Lighting & Guarding, TTMBC, LANTRA T1,T2, CSCS, Manual Handling, First Aid, Training will be given to the right candidates at our discretion.

This is a safety critical role, so pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening is mandatory.

To be considered for this role you would need to get yourself to the location of the work site every shift. The location of the work will change frequently so having a driving licence your own transport would be an advantage.

Please note you will be working outside in all weather for sometimes long periods of time.
