Abatec is recruiting for a freelance Section Engineer to join one of Southwest’s biggest Civil Engineering projects with an immediate start. This is an opportunity to join an award-winning tier-one contractor that has secured an exciting, challenging, and ongoing project in Plymouth.

The successful candidate will manage the technical compliance of the project to the design specification to fulfill the assigned project safely, on time, and to the required quality.

As Section Engineer you will:

  • Manage a team of Engineers, ensuring compliance with the project requirements
  • Material and vehicle forecasting
  • Ensure the workforce understands setting out information has been identified as suitable for the types of work being carried out
  • Identify and resource materials to support the programme of planned works
  • Identify and record NCR’s, ITPs and changes to scope of works
  • Write, review and issue RAMS
  • Produce look-ahead programme of works, and review progress against programme

Our client requires a Section Engineer with:

  • Due to the nature of the scheme the successful engineer will be required to undergo SC clearance
  • Degree qualification in civil engineering or equivalent is desired
  • Previous experience in a similar position
  • CSCS card
  • Proven people, project management skills, and organisational skills

Salary/Benefits:

  • £425 - £475 per day (PAYE/Umbrella)
