Process Moulding Technician

Key responsibilities and performance measures for this role:

  • Responsible for establishing the setting parameters for all injection moulding machines, tools and ancillary equipment as directed by the Technical manager.
  • Be an active member of the injection moulding production team
  • To be pro-active in all areas of the business Support CIT activities on the shop floor
  • Complete training to ensure skills cover all aspects of the injection moulding Provide training to all supervisors, setters and operators in all aspects of injection moulding and associated processes as directed by the Technical manager Assist setters in maintaining process parameters and improving efficiency's as directed by the Technical manager
  • Assist in maintaining and updating moulding parameters and register
  • Assist in the repair of equipment with maintenance technicians/ toolmakers who do not have the necessary skills to operate/ set equipment Assist and support contractors to carry out occasional work.
  • Maintain accurate records of work carried out on all equipment Utilise slow work periods to improve machine efficiency's
  • Assist tooling Manager in the redesign of processes as required Assist the NPD process as required
  • Assist design engineers in the redesign of components as required
  • Identify equipment not fit for purpose, propose cost effective solutions to maintain production
  • Ensure all work that is undertaken is completed safely and with relevant authorisation Provide day to day support to supervisors
  • Provide day to day support to setters, operators and managers as requested
  • Minimum qualifications/experience required:

  • Trained in advanced injection moulding setting techniques and advanced process evaluation with proven hands on experience.
  • An in depth knowledge of Demag, Krauss Maffei, Arburg and ATM robots would be an advantage
  • Previous trialling and moulding techniques experience. Experience of working within project/ time environment
  • Qualified to operate hoist/lifting equipment
  • Good mechanical knowledge
  • Fork lift license (Desired but no essential)
