RLE International is working on behalf of their Essex based Automotive Client, who are currently looking for a Software Engineer to support and join their expanding team

Software Engineer

Rate: £Neg via PAYE Umbrella company (upto £40.00)

This position is in the Tools team who are supporting many development teams, and experience developing software is essential to appreciate the role. The Tools team plan their work in the same way as developers using SAFe Agile scrum process in Jira. Work products are configuration controlled using Accurev but are moving to Github.

Most importantly the role requires good knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio wpf framework, to refine and maintain an inhouse tool supporting the global software build process.

Software Engineer Maintain and develop real-time embedded software for vehicle propulsion systems using Agile processes and tools.

Skills Required:

Software engineering skills covering the V cycle, and Programming language knowledge

Skills Preferred:

Microsoft Visual Studio wpf framework, Jira, Safe Agile, SCM, Software Process

Experience Required:

Devops, MS Visual Studio & Software Development, C# or similar

Experience Preferred:

Agile, Windows, Github, Matlab

(Development teams use Matlab Simulink and therefore an understanding of Matlab is useful)

Education Required:

Degree or significant software experience

Education Preferred:

Degree in software related discipline

Additional Information:

Ability to respond positively on time limited issues and to prioritise several tasks. Contract to end 2023 and then in year end renewals Hybrid working (within the UK), 3 days on site per week as agreed with Supervisor. INSIDE IR35
